GoodSearch Taps Scott Garell as CEO.

GoodSearch, a family of websites that raises funds for nonprofits and schools cost-free from common online activities such as search and shopping, announced the appointment of Scott Garell as CEO.

In a release, the group said that Garell brings more than a decade of senior internet management experience to GoodSearch. His most recent roles were at IAC/Interactive (IACI) as President of the Ask Network (managing 5 businesses globally including Ask.com and Dicitionary.com) and CEO of Mindspark. Garell holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and other previous work experience includes VP/GM at CitySearch, Brand Manager at Clorox, and a General Manager at ACCPAC (now part of Sage software). He is also on the board of Juma Ventures, a San Francisco based nonprofit that works to break the cycle of poverty by ensuring that young people complete a four-year college education.

"We are delighted to have Scott lead our team and build on our industry-leading position in fundraising via Internet search and shopping." said Ken Ramberg, who co-founded GoodSearch along with his sister JJ. "His depth of Internet experience and passion for our mission will help us take our business to the next level."

"I feel a personal responsibility to help make the world a better place," said Scott Garell, CEO of GoodSearch." GoodSearch is a great fit for me as it provides almost 100,000 nonprofits and schools the opportunity to raise money from simple, everyday actions. I am excited to join Ken and JJ in building on GoodSearch's success while giving back at the same time."
