New Innovative Safety Accessory by Amigo Mobility Increases Visibility of Mobility Vehicles.

Bridgeport, Mich. (PRWEB) March 29, 2011

Amigo Mobility International, Inc. recently introduced an innovative safety strobe light to increase visibility of those using mobility vehicles. The battery-operated Alert Light provides high visibility in both daylight and darkness on power operated vehicles/scooters, power chairs, wheelchairs and other mobility equipment.

Equipped with a 12-inch orange safety flag affixed to the 13-inch orange LED light, the Alert Light notifies oncoming traffic of the mobility vehicles' presence. The LED light can be set as a flashing light or solid glow. Easily installed with a screwdriver, the Alert Light is completely weatherproof and folds for easy storage. "The Alert Light has been a real life saver. The bright orange flag and LED light get the attention of drivers that would otherwise not see us at all," says customer and Phoenix resident, Ron Buchanan. The Alert Light allows another user to walk his dog safely during nighttime dog walks in his neighborhood that doesn't have sidewalks.

James Wilcox, a Phoenix, Ariz. resident, grew passionate about the lack of concern when it came to the safety of those using mobility vehicles. Having avoided two near-collisions himself while driving his company vehicle, Wilcox researched the number of accidents and even deaths that occur on a regular basis due to lack of mobility vehicle visibility. "I was so appalled at stories I read, I felt I had to do something to help," Wilcox comments. While there is no official record of mobility vehicle accidents, a quick internet search provides numerous accident news stories that have occurred worldwide.

Wilcox soon got in touch with Amigo Mobility founder and president, Al Thieme, who agreed to make his idea a reality. "We are always concerned about the safety and protection of our Amigo owners and felt it was necessary to develop a product to keep individuals highly visible both during the day and at night," says Thieme.

The Alert Light retails for $35 and is available for purchase through Amigo Mobility International at 1-800-MY-AMIGO. Learn more about the Alert Light at mobilityalertlight.com.
