Every seat taken, except Bartman's

It just sat there, green and cold and lonely. In a packed house atWrigley Field for the Cubs' home opener Monday, with tickets nearlyimpossible to get, there was Club Box 4, Row 9, Seat 116 down theleft-field line.

No one sat there the entire game, other than an occasionalstraggler.

"Actually, one guy came by and did sit down for a little while,"said John Szeszol, who sat a row behind the Bartman seat with hisbrother, Jerry. "But his head started spinning and he startedregurgitating everywhere."

This is the Cubs' newest legend, still pure and unmanipulated. Thebeautiful old scoreboard now carries large purple digital revolvingads, …
