Qld: Lack of Medicare provider numbers make doctors see red

Protesting junior doctors have said the federal government will face a backlash at
the ballot box unless it changes laws on the Medicare provider numbers which restrict
the numbers of general practitioners.

Organisers of a protest in Brisbane yesterday -- the Australian Medical Association
of Queensland say public sympathy will grow in the lead-up to the federal election due
by the end of this year.

The AMAQ says another rally will be held in Townsville this week, and they hope that
other states will continue with similar protests.
