Fed: Three more suspected SARS cases in Aust

Australian health authorities are investigating three more suspected cases of the deadlypneumonia SARS.

There are now nine possible cases of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome in Australia.

The federal health department says a 74-year old New South Wales man, a 44-year-oldWest Australian man and a 40-year-old Tasmanian woman are in hospital with suspected SARS.

Already under investigation for possible SARS are a 45-year-old woman in Queensland,a 57-year-old woman in Western Australia, a nine-year-old boy in New South Wales and threechildren from the same family in Victoria.

There have so far been no recorded cases of SARS in Australia.

Federal authorities this week confirmed Australia's only likely case of SARS had turnedout to have been a false alarm.
